Payable directly to the hotel by local residents only. Tourists will receive a refund for the VAT Tax, when they pay for their accommodations. To receive the refund, they must pay with a foreign credit card or provide their passport number and confirm their address.
Please note Estancia Cristina is accessible by boat only. Boats leave once a day from Puerto Punto Banderas, 50 km away from El Calafate. Boat rides, transfers from and to El Calafate, and National Park fees are not included on the rates and should be booked in advance.
In order to stay at Estancia Cristina, guests must bear in mind that they have to spend the previous and following nights in El Calafate, because to get to the hotel, they must take the 8.30 hs boat from the Punta Bandera harbour to Estancia Cristina.
Check-in at the hotel is at 12.00 but guests start their day at 7.00 hs in El Calafate heading off to take the 8.30 hs boat.
They day they leave, guests must check-out at 10.00 hs, but stay on the island until 17.00 hs, which is when the boat returns back to Punta Bandera, and then by car back to El Calafate.
Please note, electricity is turned off after 23.30 everyday.
