Anestoula Rooms, Скала, Греция

Anestoula & Ireanna are such good people and lovely hosts as to defy all comprehension. Room was spacious, clean, extremely comfortable, and was tidied one night into my stay. A variety of useful snack bits are in and around the fridge to keep you going as you tramp around the island, as well as tea, coffee, and spring water. I came in on a late ferry and the host made a point of staying up and meeting me personally at the port before running me back around the corner to the guesthouse in her car. On the day I left a very generous bag of fresh and warm cheese pies were left outside my window. Would come back here in a quarter of a heartbeat!

We stayed at the Anestoula Rooms last year and returned this year because it is a very nice setting close to the port in a quiet backstreet with a lovely garden. The owner is very welcoming and attentive and the accommodation is clean and comfortable. The feel is very much old style Greek hospitality, filoxenia rather than modern boutique luxury and that's what makes it special. If and when we visit Patmos next year we will certainly be staying here again!
