I got lucky and was in room 229, which had a newer AC unit that worked well and remained on while I was away so I came back to a comfortable room when temps were almost 100F (37.8C). This made all the difference. Fridge worked well too

Easy access, in the heart of everything, friendly staff, old and dated but still charming, comfortable rooms

Location is very central and safe, the stuff helpful and welcoming, the facility has a nice retro’ charm, bed is comfortable, room is clean.

Great location for our first stay in Madrid. On a lively pedestrian street. Very close to the Centro Sol Metro Station. Nice place. And no issues. Secure. Comfy bed. Good shower. Clean. And for when you can’t find it, write this down: It’s right across from Jamon Jamon (restaurant) - which you can’t miss. The hotel sign is small. The door faces Jamon Jamon but is tucked back in to the right of a little Tobacco (Vape?) shop. Then you have to hit a button to get let in the first time. Easy walk to Literary Quarter. Lots of shops and restaurants right there. They also had a secure luggage room to hold our bags between checkout and train departure. Bring cash for the key to the safe in your room. That’s not a negative, just good know in advance. You get it back when you return the key.

The room and the bathroom were clean and bed was comfortable. Also a great central location but no noise in the room.
