The most central a place can be- right in the middle of the square.
This was our first stop along the Francigena walking route. My wife was sick and stayed upstairs to get some rest. I talked to Alessandro, the owner, about perhaps getting our dinner to-go, and he immediately offered to bring our meal up to our room. He also generously offered to drive us to the next town if we decided not to walk the next day! His kindness and willingness to help was really above and beyond what we've experienced anywhere along our travels. As for the room - so cool! A beautiful spacious room with a large window opening out to a square below, nice bathroom and comfortable bed. The food - wow, wonderfully prepared dishes representing classic Tuscan ingredients, and the white wine from nearby Montecarlo a real treat. The kitchen is definitely worth the visit alone!
Excellent host - in a charming hotel! Loved it! GREAT value too!
So helpful and friendly and the restaurant......I actually had one of my favorite meals there from my month long stay in Italy. It was a simple vegetable antipasto, but so very good an fulfilling.
My room had two stairs inside and the owner was very welcoming.
