It was a wonderful stay and the room was lovely with a balcony view. I wish I could have stayed longer.
The location of the hotel is wonderful! Very close to train station and the ferry dock. Short walk to the restaurants. Short walk to morning breakfast, which had a nice selection. Great coffee maker/choices. Loved that the hotel rooms were upstairs from La Tosca bar. We used it as a meeting point with our friends at the beginning and end of each day. Also, a small store was right next door. Would stay here again!
The staff was excellent, specially Mateo at the front desk and Rose Marie in the breakfast area! They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed! They were very flexible and agreed to our request for early check in!
Excellent location! Slightly removed from the historic center of Varenna, but with easy walking distance to all sites, restaurants, etc. (and very convenient to the train). Highly recommend the Deluxe Double Room with Balcony (room 10?) for its private balcony and excellent view of the lake from the 2nd floor (what Americans consider the 3rd floor). Very helpful, professional staff (super prompt to reply to messages). Check-in/out and breakfast are at a partner hotel a few steps up the road. Breakfast offers a good assortment of items with something for everyone. We hope to return!
The hotel is very pretty and I loved the view from the balcony. Close to train station.
