Five minute walk from Termini train station, all transportation available almost in front of the hotel, good beginning walking point to all Roman landmarks. Location super-central, noisy area with massive traffic but hotel is basically quiet. Excellent service and attitudes from two breakfast personnel (females) and great coffee. Being able to toast bread in morning was a plus.
Breakfast was horrid. Only good thing I can say is relatively comfortable seating, pleasant breakfast personnel and the coffee was excellent. The food offering was extremely basic and disappointing for the price of the hotel's rooms. The hotel's interior and breakfast room visually evoke times past for traveling, but the breakfast offering is absolutely basic with one type of plastic, non-tasting, cheese alongside the most basic ham possible. They had a toaster so that was a plus. A few yogurts and corn flakes and some old croissants. This hotel can absolutely do better, as it has done in years past.
The late-afternoon reception (arrival 17:30-18:00) was quiet, no words of welcome, the most basic of information given. Nightime reception (upon returning around 23:00) was more interested in playing on his phone than answering any questions/requests regarding checkout and possible extension of time by half an hour (as a former hotel manager and reception for many years, this was appalling to me). He couldn't be bothered to even lift his head from his phone (he was smiling and laughing at his phone) to address me. Chair facing away from reception.
Bed was fine for single traveler but was uncomfortable and the metal legs could use some oil. Small, relatively flat, pillows. Fine for one night, but there are hundreds of hotels in the area to choose from for only a couple euro more.
