This is a great basic hostel, and the price is amazing. The owner Enrique was very generous with his time and taught a lot about Poblano food and provided expert travel advice. I was passing through on a bike trip and this place fit the bill for an inexpensive place on my way to Cholula and Atlixco. I was there on a Sunday in January and I was the only guest. I did notice plenty of combi and cammion bus service in the neighborhood so I am sure you can get around Puebla as needed. Nice quiet place for around 10 bucks US, basic and safe accommodations!
