Overnight stay enroute to a funeral. Motel looks understated but the room was very clean, comfortable and warm - the main priorities for a quick stop stay during winter. Walking distance to food places, kitchenette well equipped, great shower pressure and lots of hot water, heater and electric blanket for warmth, free Wi-Fi, designated carpark right outside the door, petrol station very close. Lock box for key worked well for late check in and early check out, owner/operator very responsive via text.
Nice little room along the highway. Could hear traffic during our stay.
Location, facilities, shower temperature and pressure the best, right on the main road in the middle of everything food wise very convenient
Beds are warm and comfortable each bed is fitted with electric blankets, there is a microwave bar fridge, toaster, electric stove top and oven, pots pans and utensils for cooking, wall heater is enough to keep living and sleeping area cosy and fan heater is perfect for the kitchen which also heats the bathroom. Each room has a shower and toilet which is something I need for two young children. Tv with a freeview box I'd recommend bringing your own Chromecast or Amazon stick for movies if you're staying for a couple of days or more. This motel is my go-to for affordable accommodation in waiouru it has everything we need as a family it has a laundromat (cash only) next door down the long driveway, across the road from the takeaways which is handy, subway on the right and Z gas station on the left which is 24hours. Cherie is a wonderful host and we always love staying at the roadside motel.
The unit I stayed in was newly renovated. The room was very comfortable with homely furnishings that made you feel welcome. The kitchen was one of the best equipped motels I have stayed in. Plenty of cutlery, plates and cups, in different designs and colours, not the usual plain white. The bathroom was modern with an excellent shower with great pressure. Everything was immaculately clean.
