Casa Matara is such a gem! We arrived very early in the morning and they welcomed us with coffee and tea before storing our luggage while we walked around town, then had our rooms ready well before lunchtime. The beds were super comfy, the showers hot, the breakfast plentiful and the staff so kind. It is technically located just outside the historic center, but everything was very easy to walk to. We loved it!

The staff is absolutely amazing. They assisted us with everything from laundry, personal taxis, tours, etc. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was great. We loved the variety of free teas placed around the hotel. Walking distance to Plaza de Armas and San Pedro Market.

The property was very clean, and while the room was a bit small, it’s a great value for a space to land during your adventures in Cusco. They had hot tea stations on every floor, and a delicious made to order breakfast each morning. They even packed a to go breakfast for our mornings with early tours. It was also in a great location, close enough to all the sites, but far enough away that you didn’t have to hear all the traffic and people at all hours of the day. There is also a grocery store a couple blocks away that was really convenient. The staff were also so friendly and helpful!

Charming little bed and breakfast. Casa Matara is a great place to rest your head after a day exploring Cusco and Machu Picchu. The staff is so kind and helpful, proactively reaching out to schedule our airport transfers and other activities. When we arrived, we were greeted with piping hot cups of coca tea. The rooms are small but cute and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious: local fruit, yogurt, and coffee served by the friendly staff.

Very clean. Although the room is small, it’s all we need for our stay.
