Location is on a main street in the heart of Manteigas - there are a number of restaurants as well as the town's main/biggest grocery store just a few steps from the unit. It's a small but hilly town - normally fit people should have no problem walking to anywhere in town. The unit is on the 2nd level so be prepared to climb a full flight of stairs and - once in the unit - another flight of stairs to get to the 2nd bedroom/bathroom on the 2nd floor. Very clean and modern unit. Owner who gave us the keys is the proprietor of the Dona Irene wine and cheese store directly beneath - he gave us a large block of the local cheese upon arrival which we greatly enjoyed. Unit came with a Nespresso machine and about 12 'pods' - that was enough to cover our entire stay and far better than the instant coffee we brought with us. The 'Queijaria Manteigas' restaurant just a 1 minute walk from the unit was an unexpected gem that I highly recommend.

Jorge is an amazing Host! He was very accommodating and generous with his time and resources to support us having an excellent stay in Manteigas. Many touches of generosity and kindness brightened our experience and will make it memorable for years to come! The apartment, though cozy in size, is perfectly equipped, easily accessible, beautifully decorated, well ventilated as well as air conditioned. Jorge runs a little gourmet shop located right beside the apartment where we were able to purchase amazing local wine and cheese. All in all, this is a very recommendable stay! Don't miss out!
