The property is beautiful and peaceful with lovely grounds and cozy sitting rooms. Our room had a magnificent lake view but, as a standard double, it was very small which made it difficult to even find a spot to open our suitcases. Larger rooms existed but, apparently, not with the nice views - so that seemed to be the trade-off.
Room was amazing. Stunning view. Whole hotel had so much character. Staff were absolutely incredible. So friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic too. Also went for a walk down through the gardens into the woods and then to the edge of Windermere. Stunning venue and will defo return.
The coziness, the food (Cajun whitebait), the hotel staff, all the beautiful flowers and views. The nearby hikes !!
The staff were very friendly and polite, nice to see English people working there. The views from the two windows in Room 1 were quite superb: one looking up the lake, and one looking down. Dinner, 5 courses was absolutely delicious as was breakfast which had a full range of choices.
Lovely hotel, quiet location. Breakfast was great.
