It's a quiet little place. Deffo not the spot for getting drunk and partying. There's a nice cozy pub close by too

Comfy clean great location. Good kitchen and shower. V clean toilet. Good wood burning stove to keep the place warm

If you needed a time off from busy and loud city environment this is a great place to be.

Lovely stay exactly as expected, more amenities than your average bunkhouse, really lovely (and necessary!) touch with hot water bottles for each bed provided and a kettle. The owners lit the fire for us while we were out on a mountain and we appreciated it so much when we got back late! Great location for Thirlmere resevoir and all of the eastern fells but mainly hellelyn from the western routes. 10min walk from the kings pub (quite expensive for food but lovely nonetheless). Boiling hot shower worked well, kitchen has kettle and basic cooking equipment but the hob rings took a while to heat things up so would reccommend taking a stove & cooking outside/using microwave only if needed!

Beautiful location, driving there in the evening was lovely with it nestled in between the hills! Was expecting the basics because it's a barn, but had good shower, bathroom, kitchen that was VERY well equipped (microwave, fridge, cooking gear, kettle, plates, cutlery). You will need some coins for the shower but it lasts so long that you can probably let everyone in the barn shower with that pound! The host even put the fire on without us knowing to help dry our clothes/boots which was lovely. I saw a few previous reviews that said it was dirty on the floor.....i would like to make it clear that it is a BARN. The floor is dusty because people are walking around with their boots on, but everything else is spotless. It will be as clean as the people visiting allow it to be. Would definitely stay again, if you want a basic but lovely accommodation and if you're looking to walk all day and sleep in a warm bed at night for a cheap price it is perfect.
