Friendly reception by the proprietor. A couple operates the place. Beautiful setting. It is an old mill with stone walls. Quiet rooms. Welcoming lounge. English breakfast cooked with care. Helpful hosts. Good functional bathroom (mixed hot-and-cold in sink, notable for Britain's old inns).

Such a lovely little hidden gem of a place. We were in the area visiting friends and stayed 2 nights in a cosy family room as a family of 3. The room overlooked the beautiful gardens, beds were all comfy, plenty of tea & coffee etc provided in the room. Kate & Nathan were more than welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. We ate at the Dartmoor Lodge restaurant for dinner 400m walk just up the road which we would recommend. Great location near to lots of different beaches. We will definitely be booking again next time we are in the area.

Nathan and Kate were so kind and helpful with tips for exploring Dartmoor and surrounding areas. The breakfast was superb and we really appreciated the personal touches. We will stay again when in England because the location was central to all we wanted to do.
