The location for walking in the Mourne Mountains was good and the staff were extremely helpful - the chef and dining staff (shout out to Katriona) deserve a special mention as the food and service were exceptional.
We loved our stay at the Hillyard. It was our second time to stay here and I have to say it met and surpassed our expectations. It ticks every box for us, lovely decor, great food and drink, spacious and modern bedrooms, great location at the entrance to Castlewellan forest park and most importantly of all the hotel staff who were all so helpful, friendly and made our stay so relaxing and memorable. Well done to you all at the Hillyard, keep doing what you’re doing.
Fantastic beds, linens and pillows
Great shower. Poor towels
Branding good. Service friendly. Food good
Bedrooms did not match public areas- bit Spartan. Bedrooms need softening with better seating, pictures,biscuits on tray , hankies.

Amazing breakfast, clean comfortable rooms. Location is great right next to the castle grounds.
Boutique and tastefully decorated. Brilliant location. Breakfast had an excellent choice. Staff very friendly and helpful.
