An award-winning, family-run hotel a 10-minute drive to the sea, the Wheyrigg Hall Hotel is an old converted farmhouse with a yard, a bar and a restaurant. Parking is free. Carlisle and the Bassenthwaite Lake are a 30-minute drive from the Wheyrigg, while Wigton Train station is just a 5 minute drive away. A full English breakfast is served in the large dining room in the morning and guests can enjoy frequently changing lunch, tea and dinner menus. The bar also serves snacks throughout the day. The bedrooms are well-equipped with their own bathroom, TVs, radios and tea/coffee making facilities.

The breakfasts and evening meals were fine and most importantly gluten free. Gluten free sausages were purchased and gluten free bread/toast

I really had no preconceived notion about this property. I was just looking for inexpensive two room lodging. Very surprised with this property! Lovely Pub and restaurant, great food! Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were clean and cozy.
