Breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal and bar. A very cosy and at same time quiet atmosphere.
The owners are extremely helpful and kind and I'd definitely go back.
Friendly hotel with delightful helpful staff and a real feeling of the community which it serves. Conveniently located with good access to beautiful landscapes and monuments. Interesting menu of varied dishes.
We had a 6 month dog with us so asked for a room with easy access to outside and were given one of the outside rooms opposite the hotel which was perfect. The staff were really friendly and helpful when we asked if we could have breakfast 10 minutes before their normal 8am start on the day we left. The hotel location was a few minutes drive from Castle Howard and 30 minutes from York.
Very quaint little village hotel with very friendly owners!
Breakfast was excellent as were all the meals we had. Staff very polite and friendly. If wanting to visit York specifically, probably a little far out, but otherwise in a nice location and only a short distance from Castle Howard, which is well worth a trip.
Bed was comfortable, sheets nice and fresh as were the towels in the bathroom.
