Been there many times and you get exactly what you paid for. I happen to enjoy hearing and seeing the trains running right on the street. Over the years i’ve stayed at various upscale hotels in Oakland when on biz trips but when it’s on my nickel it’s the Jack London Inn.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. My family member has stayed at this facility multiple times, and staff members are very attentive and prompt to help. When I arrived with my family member for a return stay, a staff member at the front desk made a friendly comment on my change in my hairstyles!! Also, there was a time when my family member needed assistance in operating something inside his room. Someone from the front desk came upstairs, passing me in the hallway, as he made his way to the room. I must say, that I was surprised and PLEASED that he resolved the problem so promptly and exited the room before I even reached the elevator to go downstairs, which was only a few feet away from the room!!

The staff is friendly, and are prompt in their response when/if a guest calls the front desk with a request

The location to the restaurant & pier were in walking distance from the hotel

I stay here often, I love the big and always clean rooms. At breakfast attendee had a little attitude but I didn't let it bother me. I recommend this one to all my friends and family
