L’emplacement, le confort et le personnel adorable!

This is a hidden gem of a place a stone's throw from Muir Woods and really great mountain hikes. Yes, it's lovely 1970s American Modernist feel could use a like of paint in places, but it more than makes up for that in its character and charm. The view from my balcony over woods and water to San Francisco was stunning--the hotel is on a panoramic ridge with views in both direction. It's a short walk to a trailhead that will take you down into Muir Woods National Monument and the giant redwoods (saving you the $15 entry fee and the $9 parking fee). I had the wild salmon for dinner which was also excellent. The staff were super-friendly and (I felt) actually cared about me and how I was doing (rather than just running through a script.

Amazing location so close to San Fran. Sitting on the terrace enjoying lunch it a beer, you could be in the Alps. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

Amazing views. Beautiful room. Super comfy bed. Kelly was lovely in the evening.
