With private passcode locks, check-in and check-out are literally as easy as punching in 4 digits, guests are free to come and go as they please without any awkward front-desk interaction. The place itself is just what you'd expect from a 100+ year old shore hotel. It's quaint, quiet, tucked away in a neighborhood which allows a short walk to the beach or to downtown shops.

The location of the Allenhurst is great! A few short blocks and you're at the beach. I spent summers in Ocean Grove growing up and love the architecture, the warmth of the people, and the feel of the place. There are lovely gardens, the boardwalk, and excellent restaurants. Our apartments were well-designed and beautifully appointed with linens, towels, and beach tags. We had everything we needed and --the apartments were IMMACULATE! The Allenhurst was once a rooming house, so there are some wonderful quirks, like winding stairways and closets that lead into the hallway---for my small grandchildren the maze of the old house was endlessly fascinating and fun. There were a number of other guests--young couples, singles--everyone was friendly and welcoming.
Location was perfect! Steps to the beach, steps to great breakfast & lunch spots. A short walk to Asbury Park shops and restaurants. Easy to find street parking. Room 18 is huge with a full kitchen. Super comfy bed.
