Location, the old bar and the history. I love the deco.

A lovely, gorgeously appointed seaside hotel with a welcoming and friendly and courteous staff. Excellent in every way.

The Gibson is so well done in terms of matching the vibe of the town. It's got huge wrap-around porches with rocking chairs and rooms have windows and glass paned doors that open directly out onto the porch, making it easy to have your coffee there in the morning without having to go anywhere. We loved that they let in a lot of natural light, but if you are a light sleeper, you might ask if there are rooms that would be darker in the morning. The rooms themselves have a gorgeous coastal vibe with beadboard, shiplap and cool fixtures, and the bed was super comfy. Our dog friendly room was on the second floor and overlooked the main road, but we were not bothered by any noise. There is no elevator though, so if stairs are an issue, I would ask if there are ground level rooms.

I loved everything. Apalachicola is such a unique town and The Gibson Inn is the perfect place to stay while getting a feel for the area.

The location is great in terms of walking to downtown. Very cozy little bar in the hotel.
