Breakfast was great, and the bed was really comfortable. It would have been nice to have a real chair to work at the desk rather than the stool. Otherwise, I really liked the room. I'm so glad I chose to stay in Espelette during my stay in the French Basque region. The larger places (Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Biarritz) really weren't my style, and several of the other small towns I visited (Sare and La Bastide Clairence) were great, but both had fairs/festivals during my stay, which made them extremely crowded. Espelette was perfect!
Beautiful, clean room! Great location & village!!!
The owner was very kind and flexible. We were supposed to be 2 and we just add our daughter 2 days before the stay. No space available but the owner contacted other hotel to find a solution. At the end, they manage to host all the family. Other point, every thing is like new. Hotel has been refurbished less than 2 years ago. Last thing: very well spotted.
The gentleman that met us at the front desk was just outstanding! He went the extra distance to make sure we were well accommodated and even brought out glasses in the evening for us to enjoy a bottle of spirits we had purchased in town and opened up an outdoor patio for us too.
An added fan to each room was a blessing as it was so hot that week, a thoughtful touch.
The room was lovely and the reception staff were very helpful. Breakfast was superb and good value. We could not eat dinner because the restaurant was closed.
