I had the top floor room with a balcony overlooking Bundala National Park and the wetlands. The view was stunning.you see and hear all the birds. I did the safari with Chamin and his driver. He has a great camera and will lend you his excellent binoculars. He knows all the birds! A fabulous place to stay. You can't beat the view. Chamin arranged my onward journey for a good price with his uncle, a very safe driver.

The host was amazing and cooks the most amazing Sri Lankan food! She also arranged a great tour for us. The location is stunning, right on a lagoon. Especially if you like bird watching or just want to get away from the busy cities

We really enjoyed our stay at the Flamingo Cottages. It's in a great location looking out over the actual park. From your balcony you can see various types of birds wading and feeding, and you can watch the fisherman take their boats out into the waters of the park. Quite a few species of birds came to the various trees and bushes in the garden as well, again visible from the balcony. The owner was very friendly and set up a safari in Bundala park for us. The meals were tasty and generous, and the owner even helped us get some vegetables we wanted from the local market.
