Gooderson is a situated in the perfect location at one of the most beautiful landscapes of South Africa. It was our first visit and we will be back. The adventure part is well run, so is the golf and the walk in the park and affordable. The spa is also well kept and the grounds are clean there is a lot to do there. The shop is well stocked.
This hotel must have been a prime property before, you can see the standard is dropping, the roads are not well kept, start of litter in the river and by the edge of the golf course. The food is very expensive and not that great, Glengerry is affordable and good food so most people eat there. The spa staff could be friendlier. The teen arcade most of the machines were not working. No back up when the power goes off, no Generator? These small things add up and it becomes a bigger problem, please if management can get on top of the niggly things going down before its too late, its a gold mine there dont let the standard drop. We were told there are 4 restaurants to choose from but the one night there was only the main restaurant the other one was booked for a function and the pool restaurant didnt open the place was fully booked an alternative restaurant should have been open for those not at the function lucky we were in a self catering unit and were able to braai in our room. Our telephone in our room was not connected. We were given the wrong key to our room and had to wait outside the door in the rain, these things are unacceptable and can be rectified with stronger management.
