Friendly staff. Feels like a traditional Japanese place. Good location

Easy to find. The host couple were nice and waited for us lately for our check in. Overall the property was clean and comfortable.

We liked Uji Tea Inn very much! The inn is very pretty, and the staff is very nice. Some things to take into account if you plan to stay here: - The rooms are quiet enough, but if other guests are loud, you might still hear it. It's not the fault of the accommodation, as it's basically up to luck if others visiting will be loud or quiet. If you are a light sleeper or like to sleep in late, you might need to consider this before booking. - It's about ~30min train away from Kyoto station, and ~15min walk away from Uji. We liked this since it means it's also more peaceful, but not everyone might want this for their stay. - It's close to the Nintendo museum, but the tickets for it operate on a lottery system and need to be booked several months in advance. If Nintendo museum is in your plans, check Nintendo museum's website well in advance on how to get the tickets.

The location is great for local tea shops and the experience to sleep on futon is fun.
