The small family-run Hotel Elch is located in the beautiful castle district in Nuremberg, between Weinmarkt and Neutor, next to St. Sebald church. Free WiFi is available throughout. The hotel is set in a 14th century timber-framed building dating back to 1342. The rooms have been furnished in a mixture of a modern and historic style and each room features a flat-screen TV and a mini-bar. A buffet breakfast is available every morning. Location to old town is perfect. A real little gem in the old town. It is actually the oldest building in Europe and perhaps the oldest hotel. It is small but very quaint.

It’s a very old building adapted to be a hotel. It’s located in the old city. There are a lot of stairs and was no elevator to our 2nd story room. The room is small and basic but has a lot of character. The bathroom/ shower was tiny but functional. There was no kettle. There was a small area accessible outside. Creaky floors and stairs but it was quiet at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Not for the elderly or disabled. It is very reasonably priced for the location. We didn’t have the breakfast.

When I got to my 3rd floor room, there was a sign on the bed welcoming me. It was very heartwarming. The room was very charming too. Location was perfect!
