Beautiful interior, very stylish, with an Italian restaurant on the ground floor! Very good wine! The rooms were clean and very comfortable! I would definitely come back! The staff is very friendly!
The hotel is located in a suburb of Heidelberg so one would have to take a bus into the Aldstadt. Luckily there is a tramstop just steps away from the hotel. (We actually walked a few times to town and one can walk through some lovely neighborhoods.)
We arrived on the last day of their Betriebsferien (vacation where the hotel and restaurant is closed) so their kitchen was not in full force. But they did arrange for a lovely lunch for a group lunch on Sunday in the garden. By unplanned coincidence that group I was with had planned a meal on Sunday and we were able to attend. The group noted that Leone d'Oro was a place that they had frequented for years and were glad that the hotel manager was able to support their request for a group dinner.
Though we did not have a car, there were parking spots for hotel patrons.
It did have internet which was nice (as it was noted in the information that there was no internet access available).
Despite behind next to a "bigger" road, there is no noise at night, and a good Italian restaurant downstairs
The owner was a very nice person. He helped me to carry my luggages and was readily available when I had issues with water in the room to solve the issue. He was very friendly and kind. The room was like in the pictures: authentic and clean.. Thanks a lot for hosting me!
