The host was simply wonderful. Very attentive and extremely generous.

Folks: If you need to be close to the airport prior to leaving Crete, please do not look any further than Pazinos Village Studio. We felt more Cretan in our one afternoon and evening here than a week (a wonderful week) near Chania town and all the action. The owner and host, Dimitrios, is a gem. He has found his calling and will leave no stone unturned in order to make sure you are happy, well fed, informed, and rested prior to travel. Do NOT miss Pazinos Village studio.

We stayed in Pazinos Village Studios overnight before flying out to Chania Airport the host arranged a taxi for us the next morning. During our stay he was extremely kind and accommodating.

Demitri was a wonderful host. Greeted us with incredible hospitality and showed us around his collection of antiquity and personal items he's accumulated over the years in his museum. Then showed us his workshop looms and icon paintings. Of course we enjoyed Raki together and some wonderful home grown snacks. It is a tiny little traditional village setting with tons of cats as is the Crete tradition. We walked up some stairs to the apartment and it was wonderfully appointed. The heat during our stay was intense, and Demitri had the airconditioner on for our arrival. It may sound like a small thing but this was unique during our multiple stays. The location we picked for its proximity to the airport and it was a 5 minute drive.

The proprietor is very charming, welcoming, helpful, and interesting to talk with. The building, built, I think, in the 1600s, was originally family homes. Part of it is a small museum filled with interesting Greek antiques - objects, textiles, furniture, clothing, etc. - going back a couple hundred years or so. My room was very clean and comfortable and had a homey feel, and it was very quiet. The little village of Pazinos is not a tourist destination, but it's an old and authentically Greek neighborhood that I'm glad to have happened upon. It's a short and inexpensive cab ride to the airport.
