Comfortable mattress, fan in room, friendly staff and locals around hotel, free coffee and tea all day, very clean, hot shower, decent wifi
Central location - 2 minutes walking to the main Square, cafes and restaurants and landmarks. The hostel is new and clean, the rooms have only one bed, and the shared bathrooms on the corridor. There's a table with free tea and coffee on the corridor. The stuff is very friendly and helpful even though they speak little English. They helped me with a taxi to Padang at an incredible low price (I wouldn't have gotten this with any travel agency). Internet is very fast and good. The best place I stayed in Sumatra so far.
I had a wonderful stay at Kareem Syariah Hostel. The room was exceptionally clean, and the staff were very friendly and easy to deal with, making my stay even more comfortable. The hostel provides an iron and ironing board, which is a great convenience for a solo traveler like me — no need to bring my own!
Despite having shared bathrooms, I was pleasantly surprised by how well-maintained and spotless they were. The hostel also offers a designated space for prayer, and there is even enough room inside the accommodation for solat, making it an excellent choice for Muslim travelers.
The location is also a major plus! It is conveniently situated near Plaza Bukittinggi, and through the back entrance, you can easily access Jam Gadang from the front. Overall, my experience at Kareem Syariah Hostel was fantastic, and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

The best option in the area. It was clean and staff was super friendly. The location was good as well- you can get a free tea and coffee how many you just need to. It is always appreciated by guests
