Primarily the owners who despite me mangling their language with my Spanglesh were extra helpful and welcoming. Hotel is a unique building (renovated country house and granary). Meals were excellent and service exemplary, this is all at reasonable cost too.
I travelled alone and stayed only 1 night, while en-course to UK. I loved my choice...! The hotel is amazing and the staff is so helpful. I felt like a king while in there ;-)
Didn't seem to be anything there, until suddenly a valley appeared and a little village nestled in it, with the hotel there. The hotel looks formidable on the outside, but is quaint and comfortable inside, with lots of space. The food is good, and a great choice of drinks. A big storm rolled through during dinner, and we didn't hear a thing, safe in the thick walls.
We only stayed for 1 night with travelling, in a peaceful location with a good nights sleep, had a good evening meal, the lady at breakfast showed me an egg, thought I was getting a boiled egg, she turned up with scrambled egg which was a nice surprise.
Great stopover after getting off the ferry in Santander, heading south. Small village, but the hotel had a restaurant and were very accommodating. We were 2 bikers that arrived 2 hours later than expected due to ferry getting in late, dripping wet, but were given a meal and drinks after 9pm. Lovely bar area. A few spaces right outside for the bikes. Would definitely stay again.
