Ricardo was a wonderful host and a great chef! He also gave excellent advice to me as a Camino pilgrim.

The town reflected Maragato history, particularly the food.

Beautiful room, comfortable bed, lovely view and village. Peaceful.

The property was excellent, however the kitchen was closed and the other places to eat closed at 4 P.M. If I was told that the places to eat closed at 4 when I arrived, I could have at least made that my first priority. The owner did get me a much appreciated ham and cheese sandwich.. The community that lives in Castrillo de los Polvazares are just plain wonderful people who love pilgrims. I know if I asked them were to to eat they would have gone out of their way to prepare something for me. I walked this stone village 3 times to marvel at the homes and establishments that existed. I assume by observation that I just may have been the only pilgrim in the village that night. I definitely would recommend a night spent in this village

I'm giving this a good review because it is a great place to stay and a beautiful, pristine town that is slightly off the track of the Camino. However...you may get into town and find like we did that not a single place is open for dinner. Make sure you have food with you and get there by lunchtime to have a late lunch.
