The property was very clean, confortable and charming. The location, right iin the center, is unbeatable and makes it easy to move about attrations. The staff is also very kind and helpful. I would certailny recommend Hostal Don Alfonso for a nice stay in Madrid.
Very close to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Also very close to a huge supermarket. I enjoyed a guided tour of the “Monasterio de las Descalzas Reales”, which was right around the corner: thousands of 16th and 17th century portraits and painted murals.
Fantastic location in the heart of Madrid. 24 hour reception was appreciated. Super clean and nicely decorated. Room was small, but had everything I needed. Staff was great, inc front desk and housekeeping. Very quiet for being so central.
Fun location very near Sol Plaza. Great boutique style hotel with an exceptional staff who really made us feel comfortable in a city we were very new to. Small balcony where we could watch a lot of people enjoying the plaza (including a parade right below our feet). Despite this, the room was very quiet and everything was quite clean. Highly recommend.
