We had an excellent experience during our stay at La Escalera. The owner accommodated our early check-in request and was there personally to meet us and explain about the amenities and the activities around town. Pontevedra is one of Europe's most walkable (pedestrian-friendly) cities and the location of La Escalera puts you right in the center of town (a few steps away from Igrexa da Virxe Peregrina (or Iglesia de la Virgen Peregrina). Everything you will need to comfortably live daily is nearby - grocery stores, post office, theatres, bakeries, ice cream shops, pizza, bars, regular and fancy restaurants (there's even a Michelin-rated restaurant a short walk away). There's even a regular roasted-chestnut street vendor a few steps away. For shopping, everything is also close by - shoe stores, clothing stores, hardware stores, and most other kinds of stores you can think of.

Great location, lovely flat, very helpful hosts. Excellent shower, everything that was needed in the kitchen, and a nice terrace, too. Would stay again.
