The driveway to the Hotel was emblematic of the fantastic location - nothing can supersede driving under the branches of hundred years old pines. After that, everything at the Borgo di Luce was like a dream - having breakfast at the edge of the pond with ducks bathing nearby, having a sip of vine at the beautifully located terrace with potted lemons, having a stroll down the pristine nature surrounding the old Monastery... like a dream come true. The food tasted like heaven and I honestly haven't seen such a variety of tasty sweets served for a breakfast. Everything tasted as if baked by a nonna. The essence of taste was served near a small pond under the tree tops. We spent only one night at the Borgo di Luce but are longing to return - we were upgraded to the deluxe room which was part of the old monastery and had a patio looking out to the sun and the surroundings. The room itself had very high ceilings and stone arches. The bed provided a well slept night. very clean and well kept The service was polite and friendly, we enjoyed our stay. Special details like handmade Sicilian ceramics, groves of lavender and olive trees, grand stone staircase and immaculate interiors made us feel like this is the Sicily we would return to anytime. I only missed the slippers at the room, but it is not such a big deal at all comparing to the outstanding location, architecture and interiors of the Borgo di Luce
