Set directly on Lake Comabbio, the Montelago is ideal for hikes to Lake Maggiore, Lake Lugano and Lake Varese. This eco-friendly hotel features energy saving systems and rooms with free Wi-Fi. All rooms at Hotel Montelago are elegantly furnished and modern with parquet floors. Each comes with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, and an private bathroom. Some have a balcony and some offer views of Lake Comabbio. Breakfast is served in the dining room and is buffet style. It includes a variety of sweet and savory products. Ternate Train Station is a 5-minute walk from the hotel, which is adjacent to a park with playground and to the cycling and walking path to the lakes. Milan Malpensa Airport is a 20-minute drive away. The hotel is also near Ternate's business district.

next to lake traditional rooms but needs more lighting in the room
Right next to the lake, a very nice balcony and lots of parking. Felt like a relaxing place overall. Good breakfast. Was good value for money. The place is within one hour driving distance of Lake Como.
Staff were great - looked after our baggage whilst were were on a four day cycling tour.
We stayed for one week in the hotel, everything is perfect. Room is spacious and clean, adequately heated. Balcony is big. There is a small lake just next to hotel, ideal for a morning walk after breakfast. There is also a big playground next to hotel, perfect places for my kids to "release" the energy.
Breakfast is decent with essential choices. The pancake machine is kids' favorite.
Hotel is located conveniently close to Varese, lake Como and etc. One can plan day trips to surrounding area easily.
There is a restaurant just cross the street from hotel, as hotel guests you can get a small discount there. Food are good there, with pizza, spaghetti, Pallela etc.
On new year eve, hotel/restaurant also has a fantastic fireworks show, our balcony has the best viewing position.
