The masseria of Giovanni and Luisa Is a Little gemme in the countryside between Gravina and Matera and they are amazing hosts. We felt so relaxed and at home there. 10 out of 10 for their place and their kindness.

The Masseria is amazing, so nicely done. They kept the character of the past with an elegant and modern touch. Giovanni and Luisa are a very kind couple and so welcoming. Luisa made two amazing cakes for breakfast and she is so nice to chat with. Definitely we will come back.

We really enjoyed our stay. La Commenda is located on a farm with a beautiful outlook. The recently renovated house is very beautiful and has been done extremely well. Fully fitted. Easy to find, good communication. Easy parking and a straight forward drive, maybe 10-15 mins, into Matera. The real difference here, however, are your hosts. What lovely people. Warm and helpful. We decided to have dinner at the property. What a treat. Home cooked and beautiful. Thank you. Highly recommended.

Beautifully restored Masseria near the Sanctuary of Picciano. Lovely dinner with good wine, a great place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of city and even village life. It's an isolated spot but has easy road access. Great fruendly hosts!! We were walking the Camino Materano to Matera so it was a valued option on a stretch that has few choices as the Sanctuary does not welcome Camino walkers. It replaces a 6km stretch uphill 200m with an easy 4km flat track, with the offer of a drive up to the Sanctuary next morning.
