Residenza Porta Romana is in a great location, very close to the beach. It is in a quiet area, while also being close to the city centre. The staff is very friendly, attentive and goes above and beyond to make you feel at ease. I would recommend to anyone visiting Tropea. It is truly a hidden gem!

The location of Residenza Porta Romana is outstanding. It is close to the beach and also close to the stairs up to Tropea. The area was quiet at night. The rooms were very clean, and the breakfast was very good and was served in a small courtyard area. In all,we had a wonderful stay in Tropea!

Very good location to go to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (most other stays in Tropea require descending/climbing 200 steps), extremely clean and well maintained, good breakfast, very attentive and pleasant staff who went out of their way to improve our stay. Extremely good value.

Everything was perfect, Carmelo y Cristina were very kind and helpful. The location, the room, the terrace, the linen, the bathroom were ok. Very clean and very nice. Breakfast was delicious. A 10+ rating.

The staff could not be more accommodating - they volunteered (for free!) to pick us up from the train station and took us to the venue where we were attending a wedding. The breakfast was also quite good. The location is very close to the beach which was a great plus for us - but travelers with disabilities should be aware that to get to the old city of Tropea you must either take a taxi/car or go up many many stairs - this is not a negative for us, it was more than manageable.
