The hotel is only 5 mins away from the city center via tuk tuk but it’s worth it. The design relies heavily on wood , not to mention the buddhas and wooden furniture stored in the lobby and the first floor. If you want to stay away from cookie cutter accommodations, I encourage you to consider the Shining Angkor Boutique Hotel. The wooden staircase alone is worth the stay. And the staff were always helpful, polite, friendly, and accommodating.

Beautiful hotel, extremely gracious hosts who take pride it keeping their facilities clean and welcoming. Amazing location--we walked from our hotel to the Angkor Wat complex because we wanted the exercise. The road gets busy but I absolutely loved being so close to the temple complex. Also, right next door is a temple combined with a museum detailing the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge. A difficult but profound experience. Lastly, the hotel is located in a quieter portion of Siem Reap which we loved--walking distance to 2 fantastic restaurants as well as other ammenities (ATM, grocery store). I cannot recommend this place highly enough!!

One of the most unique and beautiful hotels I've stayed at, really wooden, rustic charm I Loved it! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys wooden, rustic settings. Just down the road from Angkor Wat and close enough to town to enjoy the city.

stayed her a few years ago and loved it so when back in Siem Reap again had to stay in this charming character hotel. the staff are wonderful and the accommodations are perfect, just the way it was many years ago. they have done updating but the character remains the same. the heavy wood furniture that Cambodia is known for. love this place. the surrounding area has changed but inside the hotel you do not hear the traffic. the pool is inviting and clean
