The location is key, but being the oldest hotel of Guadalajara historically speaking, it needs some upgrades, not to be confused with updating, the historic charm of this property is what gives it its edge from other hotels around the historic center. But inside the rooms; beds need a massive overhaul starting with mattresses and the bathroom. One thing is historic charm and another is sleeping on what feels to be a historic mattress. The bathroom could be upgraded without loosing its historic charm with modern plumbing fixtures. You will need some investment on this and a great interior designer that can bring back the rooms to the 21st century without loosing its historic charm.
The location is perfect. Right in the middle of the historical district. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The hotel was only 15 minutes from my appointment by taxi.
Center of everthing and the Trolley station made it just as convinient
I loved the aesthetic of this hundreds of years old property. It is well maintained and preserved and I hope it never changes.
I liked everthing...but the food...needed some more flavor to mexican.. like natural ingredients....
