Location was amazing - right off the main square, 10 min walk from bus station. Comfortable rooms. A/C worked (and actually, the room was surprisingly cool even without A/C). Staff were available and helpful.
Hotel has a beautiful courtyard with lush plants. We heard some wonderful birdsong here. Great pool - kids loved playing in it. (There was a small shallow pool at one end for little kids as well.)
We loved Valladolid and wished we had stayed longer. Got great lunch and aguas frescas in the market hall (northeast corner of the main square).
Pro's:
- Location is very good
- Swimming pool is refreshing and clean enough
- Very big rooms
- AC and sealing fan
- Helpful staff
Con's:
- AC did a bit weird at arrival, but worked good afterwards
- Bit smelly sinks but this seems everywhere in Mexico
- Some Sounds of the street get through, but not as nosy as other complaints
- Lights are a bit whitish, not really cosy yellow.
The stay was great, the staff was good. TV worked, wifi was alright. The Cons are just small issues, not really influencing the overall stay. So 9 average.

Yes, it’s an old hotel and nothing like the huge non descriptive 5-star resort hotels you have in Tulum. While the average US resident won’t appreciate this beautiful and charming hotel, EU citizens that love France, Spain and Italy will for sure. A stunning place, especially the garden and pool area and the location is perfectly situated around the main square. Rooms are tidy and clean, great shower and you get 24h free coffee in the lobby.
