Located on the banks of the River Laja, Nirvana Restaurant & Retreat offers yoga and meditation classes and an outdoor pool fed by thermal springs. San Miguel de Allende is a 15-minute drive away. This design hotel is surrounded by lush vegetation and is decorated with natural materials, including palm leaves and local stone. The simple, elegant rooms have private bathrooms and balconies overlooking the gardens. The Nirvana Retreat is run by Juan Carlos Escalante, a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America. His restaurant offers creative fusion cuisine. Meals can be enjoyed outside in the gardens. Nirvana Restaurant and Retreat is a short walk or cycle from Atotonilco Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Free bicycles are available from reception, where staff can also help you arrange tours and excursions.

Very welcoming owner and staff, incredibly lush and exotic Gardens , cured and elegant restaurant menú for international tastes.
Cabin room was colonial styled and well appointed
Absolutely beautiful getaway not too far from town. The peace and tranquility envelop you. The grounds are well kept and the staff were attentive. The pool is filled from thermal spring water and is incredibly relaxing. Food was delicious and enjoyable. All in all we had an incredible stay and will definitely be returning. The owner Juan Carlos even snapped a lovely photo of my wife and I.
Gorgeous setting with lovely trees, a fabulous pool and a nicely appointed room and bath. Loved walking around the property and meeting the farm animals, taking a late night swim and having desert for dinner along with a delicious coctail.. The resturaunt and staff were wonderful.
It was pretty quietly and the property it’s well maintained.
It always feels like an oasis, calm, serene and pleasant. We are always anxious to return.
