Cozy garden level studio apartment with a terrific view of the garden...and the cutest chickens. Was lovely to sit outside on the patio with a glass of wine in the evenings. The house is part of a row of Captain's Houses, from the 17th century, in a neighborhood called Buiksloterdijk. Very serene setting. 20 min walking distance to the Noord Metro Station along a picturesque canal with a huge windmill. Easy hop onto the M52 into Amsterdam's Centraal Station, where you can pick up the trams into Amsterdam, or a euro rail into the many cities in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and beyond. Rene & Ellen are two wonderful and accommodating hosts. I mentioned I like green tea in the mornings, and they had it for me the next day. Ellen is very knowledgeable about the history of the area they reside.

The setting is just gorgeous and the house has absolutely everything you need. Superb experience. We were sad to leave.
