Very close to the ferry and we were wallowed to leave our car at the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful; breakfast was delicious!
Beautifully restored, old building gives it a lot of charm/B&B feeling, but with facilities like a hotel. The hosts are good people with a lot of knowledge about the area.
We are bicycling and storage is important to us. They had a safe bicycle storage shed on site. The motel is close to downtown but services were limited. They did provide a simple breakfast for customers. The managers were very helpful and quite accommodating. The water was hot and the room comfortable.
The owners were excellent and made my stay very comfortable.
Mike is a terrific host who told us where to buy oysters by the dozen. We also bought bread at the grocery nearby. And he offered to let us use his empty dining room for our dinner even though he has his own restaurant and bar at the hotel. Also allowed us to leave our car with him while we went to Stewart Island. The hotel is a five minute walk to the ferry. He is more than generous. Also met some exceptional travelers the next morning at breakfast. Highly recommend.
