The staff is great, helpful and friendly. The rooms are dated but clean and comfortable. The attached restaurant has great food and the included breakfast is complete and plentiful. The Souk and Corniche are walking distance 2.4 kms. There is a large grocery store across the street. You can buy liquor or beer at the restaurant which is rare in Oman.

The staff are all friendly and make sure your stay is comfortable. The restaurant serves delicious food and the bonus is they also serve alcohol should you want a cold beer after walking all day! The breakfast, if you have it included, is plentiful and varied. Our room was huge and water always hot. The hotel is walkable to the Souk and Corniche (2.4 km). From the airport take the A1 bus to Ruwi Bus Station. From there it is easy to order Otaxi (Oman's version of Uber) to Mutrah Hotel.

Its a wonderful place in Old Muscat. The price is on the higher side but if you are traveling in Muscat and want to be close to Old City then this is the best deal. The staff is nice, helpful and is always available.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel, room was neat and clean with the facilities available. Staff were very cooperative and always there for our assistance. There is an in-house restaurant at the hotel. You can easily get taxi from the hotel location.

The location is as close to the old city as you will find. I could walk to all of the sights and attractions in the old city. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. My room 302, had perfect air conditioning. A very quiet hotel and the breakfast was superb. Everything was delicious...could not have been better. If you want to stay in the historical area of Muscat this spot is perfect. The price at Mutrah Hotel is in the lower range for Muscat but don't let that dissuade you...this spot is tops in value. Please say hello to Obit for me...night time desk clerk
