such a cute location!! owner and volunteers were really friendly as well, stayed just one night during the fisherman’s trail but honestly wish i stayed longer!! loved watching the stars from the balcony at night

Martin was a great host. As I am 49 yrs old, I wasn’t sure about booking a hostel but I’m glad I did. Booked the double room and had privacy and quiet when I needed it. But it was great to interact with others from all over the world

The hostel is very comfortable and the surroundings are lovely. Most of the guests seemed to be walking the Rota Vicentina (Fishermen’s Trail) so everyone went to bed early and all was quiet in the dorm. I stayed on a Monday night and the nearby restaurant was closed. Basic food was available for purchase, as was beer and wine. It’s an hour walk to Vila do Bispo or short taxi ride.

Great views, comfortable setting and vibe, and a great restaurant with live music just around the corner!

Hostel on the Hill is a warm,welcoming, and well-run hostel. The hosts are laid back but have an attention to detail that is maintained. As an older solo traveler in a hostel full of hikers and surfers, I felt included and appreciated. It was easy to sleep quiet most of the time and peaceful. The garden is enchanting, and the winds are cooling. There are 2 very exceptionally lovely beaches close by, Furnas and Zavial. I recommend a car since the supermarket is beyond a 30-minute walk. The farmers' market in Vila do Bispo is well worth the visit. I recommend Hostel on the Hill for all hostel lovers.
