Joao picked me up at the airport and showed me around the apartment area (restaurants, grocery stores, bus stops, etc. The apartment is high up in an old building, inside it is very modern and new; the view onto the beach is hard to beat. The metro stop is just a nice walk of 20 minutes away, and if you have time take the scenic bus 500 towards the city from the station (thanks, Joao, for this great tip!) The bus stopping very close to the building runs not so frequently but gives you a long ride to the city without having to change lines. I used it on the way back from the metro station to the apartment, a short 8 minute ride. The two bedrooms are in back of the apartments, thus very quiet. The apartment had everything I needed, Joao even put a great selection for a nice breakfast into the fridge! I definitely would stay there again!

The host was very friendly, attentive and caring. The apartment is rather far from the center of Porto but our priority was the ocean, a quiet holiday and delicious food. There are several good restaurants nearby. Traffic noise does not bother if you close the windows.
