Surrounded by tropical gardens, the seaside Pestana Grand Ocean Resort Hotel features the largest salt water pool on the Madeira Island. The hotel offers fine dining and access to the Funchal coastline promenade. The resort is set on the rock of Ponta da Cruz, with views of the high sea cliffs of Cabo Girão. Its bright interiors have large windows, designed to let in plenty of natural light. Pestana Grand Ocean Resort Hotel has a full-scale spa with steam baths, saunas, and hot tubes. Guests can work out at the gym, have a relaxing massage or swim in the panoramic indoor pool. The Pestana Grand's rooms include private balconies. Each is air conditioned and has an private bathroom with a bathtub. The hotel offers an extensive range of restaurants, including fine Moroccan, Italian and Portuguese cuisine. The staff was super helpful, and we enjoyed the terrace/pool very much.
Great hotel and wonderful staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a family suite which overlooked the pools. The breakfast was pretty good, lots of selections. Location was ideal. Near the water and walking path.
It was our first time visiting Madeira, and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience.
Although we unfortunately missed dinner on our first night, the young gentleman at reception welcomed us warmly with an aperitif and kindly informed us that dinner had been arranged for us in our room. It was exactly what we needed after our journey.
Our room was well-suited for three people, with two comfortable beds for my wife and me, and an additional bed for our daughter.
Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, offering a wide variety of options to choose from. The hotel grounds were absolutely beautiful—immaculately clean, with an abundance of vibrant plants and flowers creating a truly lovely atmosphere.
Indoor pool and breakfast, small kitchenette in room and the view was really good. Food at the restaurants are pretty good but the buffet was not very good quality and poorly planet out with long que.
Nice sea view.
