Located in the hills surrounding Funchal, this 18th-century mansion is set in extensive botanical gardens with 600 different plant species. All rooms have balconies overlooking the gardens. Quinta Jardins do Lago's spacious rooms are elegantly furnished and include a seating area, a marble bathroom and a large balcony. Each room features air conditioning, cable TV and free WiFi. Beresford Restaurant, available daily for evening meals, is an indoor restaurant where Madeira and International cuisine melt. The gardens, pool, food, service and massage were all exceptional. We stayed for three nights but the hotel is so relaxing we felt as if we were there for a week.
This is such a beautiful hotel that I can't express with words. Very nice and comfortable room, amazing garden (much more beautiful than botanical or other gardens in funchal). What impressed me besides the beauty of the hotel was very high standard of service combined with attention and kindness of the staff.
The best hotel I have stayed (I have been in a lot of very good hotels)I Looking forward to come back soon.

Wow…what a beautiful property! It is more than just a place to stay, it is also a tour theough an amazing botanical garden! The grounds are superb, the tortoise, Colombo is sweet, the food is fabulous, the view of Funchal is amazing, the rooms are spacious and lovely, the staff is professional and helpful…it is a wonderful place to stay!!!
Everything about this place was perfect. The dinner restaurant, for example, was BETTER than any we could find offsite. The grounds were gorgeous. The views were spectacular. The staff was wonderful. We've found heaven.
