I had a wonderful stay at Barnes Fell. I was greeted by Ethna, who run's everything there. She is a super sweet woman who was very accommodating! The location in Ambleside was perfect, and the apartment was clean and comfortable.

Barnes Fell was a lovely 1 bedroom en suite apartment with living room and kitchenette, provided with everything we needed for a short (or longer) stay. Ethna was wonderfully welcoming, friendly, and accommodating before and throughout our stay. We had a brilliant long weekend. I cannot fault Barnes Fell and would happily recommend it.

Location superb for visiting Ambleside and surrounding areas. Once arrived and parked up we didnt need the car for local attractions as the centre of Ambleside is literally 1-2mins walk away. Very well laid out accommodation with everything thought of and added personal touch by an excellent host. We will definitely be back and it will be our first choice for accommodation in Ambleside.

We stayed in the Fairfield apartment. Clean, comfortable and well equipped for a short stay. Wonderful views from the large bay window (which provides wonderful natural light) or the breakfast bar when having your morning brew. Location is good with quick access to the village - either take the road, the 70 + steps or a sloped path - the choice is yours!! An attentive host who has a genuine interest in her guests; even got me a birthday card as this was the reason for our weekend away. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.
