The camp location and facilities were good for families and it is a good proximity to beamish museum and chesterl le street where there is a superb riverside park with splash zone and cafe
Location is fabulous as we were focused on getting to the Beamish Museum. Anthony was very kind and helpful. More than enough room for us.
We were visiting the area for a family funeral. The dates of our stay had to be moved several times for various reasons and Beamish were more than happy to do this. Even late check in wasn't a problem. None of my wife's family (who are local) were familiar with Beamish Holiday Park and some negative reviews left us unsure what to expect. Based on our stay however, we now realise these reviews are totally misleading. We all had smiles on our faces as we opened the door. The caravan was exactly as described, immaculate inside and out, beautiful bedding and towels, fantastic layout and the spotless hot tub was a huge hit. The site was quiet, well laid out and well maintained. Friendly staff and a well stocked shop. Even the weather was amazing! I can honestly say there's not one negative thing I can think of. Shafto's Bar wasn't open during our mid-week stay, but given our experience we will definitely be back, so hopefully we'll take advantage of that next time.
The caravan accomodation was very good, possibly the best we have stayed in , in the last 40 years of hiring caravans for breaks and holidays.

It is 5 minutes drive to Beamish museum, which we were visiting.
We stayed here because we had intentions to visit the Beamish museum. The location was perfect, caravan was clean and tidy. Also had a great park area for the kids and the clubhouse was perfect for a drink and snacks.
I was initially put off by some negative reviews about “feral children” and noise. But it was the quietest caravan site I’ve ever been on (potentially because we went during low season)
