Lovely location with a spacious room & we were greeted on arrival with a yummy muffin & a cold drink. Breakfast had plenty of options & was delicious.
Mel was a lovely host and gave us a warm welcome. Traveling with friends, so I was able to see both large guest rooms, they were lovely with nice bathrooms. We were able to use a table downstairs in the evening to play cards games. Breakfast was the best. We were each able to choose from a long list of items.
Yogurt, fresh berries, toast with jam, coffee and tea and delicious hot breakfast. A British brekky, or the eggs Benedict (I ordered these both mornings)nice healthy omelettes, my husband had the haddock, excellent he said. Great way to start the day! Capernwray House is a complete delight. A marvellous peaceful country location, yet not far from the M6 and Carnforth. Mel offers the warmest of welcomes upon arrival, with tea or coffee and sweet treats in the lounge. The rooms are decorated with impeccable taste and modern fixtures and finishes. The king bed was excellent. The included breakfast is elegant, varied and absolutely delicious.
Our stay, quite simply, made us smile from start to finish.
Capernwray House Bed & Breakfast is perhaps the most beautifully situated and tastefully appointed Bed & Breakfast I have ever stayed in. I will stay here again! Mel, the hostess, was the picture of hospitality. So friendly, as was her whole family! I was traveling alone, but I didn't FEEL alone, it felt like I was a family friend. Everything about Capernwray House Bed & Breakfast was top-notch and high class. The bed was SUPER comfortable, and the room was MASSIVE! The windows were large and picturesque, showing the beauty of the manicured lawns and outdoor spaces. And the FLOWERS! My goodness! SO amazing and peaceful. The country lanes around the Bed & Breakfast are perfect for walking, and the scenery was something right out of Pride & Prejudice (the A&E version - the BEST version in my opinion - the one with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy). Breakfast was delicious and they have the BEST TEA.
Our stay was ideal. The room was clean, spacious and had everything that we needed and more. The breakfast was substantial and lovely. Basically, if you're looking for a B&B around the are then you won't find a better one. Mel was the perfect hostess and couldn't do more for us, even dropping us off into Carnforth when we wanted to grab the train to Arnside!
